Last week we do evolving Rice Krispies. Each one of us got a recipe, each recipe was different, to make. After we made them we tasted them and discussed how the ones that we actually liked would be the ones “strong” ones to survive in the world.
This was mine. It did not have enough marshmallow in the Rice Krispies. Actually wasn’t as bad as we thought it would.
This one has Oreos in it. It was one of the winners.
This one was made with salt. It was rather gross.
This one has m &ms in it. It was the other winner.
Before we made the Rice Krispies we made DNA models out of licorice, marshmallows and toothpicks. Here they are.
My two favorite things put together! Science teaching and food. I love the rice krispie idea. They are so great because they avoid all the food allergies issues kids have. What grade level do you teach?
I am actually currently finishing my last semester before student teaching. 🙂 this is just science experiments we have been doing to et ready for teaching! 🙂
Awesome! I am in my first year of teaching high school biology and the kids always love food activities. The natural selection activity is really creative. Keep it up!
Thank you! We will be posting more! 🙂
